News from the Freeport Country Club
FREEPORT OPENS FOR THE SEASON!
And everyone said... "FINALLY!!" Golf has returned to the Freeport Country Club, and what a day for it! Come on down to Freeport!
Opening 2010 Update
We've been getting a daily flow of phone calls and e-mails about opening-- and it's coming soon! We haven't set a date yet, but it won't be long. In the meantime, be sure to "fan" the Freeport CC Facebook page-- updates from Chad Hopkins and others at the Club are appearing there every few days. Drop us a note there, too! We'll post an opening announcement there within minutes of having it... we'll send out an e-mail to all on the mailing list... and we'll post it here!
A RANGE FOR FREEPORT??
Heavy equipment arrived at Freeport Country Club this week. Under the sure hand of Superintendent Fred Daigle, we're beginning to start the process of creating a great practice area! In the area near the second hole at Freeport, we've been hard at work-- the pasture has been mowed and is being prepped (you can see it in the picture above) and we're stumping and grubbing the tee area. On the horizon: a putting green, a practice bunker, an all-turf teeing ground and target greens. Click on the image at left to view our current concept of the range!
We're taking a "minimalist approach" to the work on the range... but you'll see that the best golf design always takes advantage of whatever the natural setting has to offer. This is certainly proving true at Freeport!
OPENING DAY 2009
We are set to open Freeport for play on Saturday, April 11th! Break out those clubs, take a few practice swings and come on down. Golf returns to Freeport!
9 HOLES FOR 10 BUCKS ROLLS ON
It started as an early-season special... and then it took on a life of its own. When we said, "Nine holes for ten bucks, only at Freeport", we had no idea what a response we'd get. So instead of the exception, 9 Holes for 10 Bucks has become the rule. Fall is a beautiful time to play anywhere in Maine-- so why not keep more of your money in your pocket and play somewhere close by like Freeport Country Club? As the saying goes: "You could go fishing... but this is cheaper than worms!"
Looking forward to 2008!
With an already snowy winter well underway, Freeport Country Club and the Pro Shop are closed for the season. For membership or gift card information, please call the Harris Golf office directly-- (207) 442-8725. We'll look forward to seeing you come Spring!
